Easiest Latin Dance to Learn

Merengue

The easiest Latin dance to learn is called Merengue. It is a two-beat rhythm that originated in the Dominican Republic. It is a fun and exciting dance. Even if you have two left feet, you can dance Merengue. And for that reason, we teach Merengue in the first class of Salsa Nightclub Level One. It will build your confidence and prove that anyone can dance.

Bachata

The second easiest Latin dance to learn would be Bachata. Bachata is a dance of the heart. It has an even eight-beat rhythm. It feels like being on a beach with friends as the sun is setting. There is a bonfire and you are all relaxing and vibing and having a great time. I started Bachata later but I fell in love with it. I’m so passionate about Bachata that I now teach it as well.

Salsa

If you travel anywhere in the world, you will hear Merengue, Bachata, and Salsa music. Salsa is the most challenging dance of the three but also the most rewarding. It is also the most popular. Who hasn’t heard of Salsa? You can hear Salsa music everywhere these days – even when you walk into a convenience store. Latin Clubs all over the world from Toronto to New York, St. Petersburg to Seoul, all play Salsa music. So Salsa may not be the easiest Latin dance to learn, but it is one you want in your repertoire.

Where to Begin

Do you want to hear the most incredible part? At Toronto Dance Salsa, in our Salsa Nightclub level one class, you learn Merengue, Bachata and Salsa. We teach all three dance styles because we believe that when you go on a Latin dance floor, we want you to be able to dance to all the music that you hear.

When you learn Salsa, Bachata or Merengue, you will open yourself to an incredible experience. Regardless of where you are – a dance floor in Canada, a beach in Barbados or a fiesta in Puerto Rico – you can join in the fun. You don’t need to speak the language, as long as your body speaks the language of the dance.

I hope someday I get a chance to dance with you, connect with you, and teach you the easiest Latin dances to learn – Merengue, Bachata and Salsa.

I can’t wait to welcome you to our big family, have you coming in week-to-week, have fun, connect with new friends and let loose to amazing Latin songs. Click here to check our current schedule.
