Just wear whatever you would to meet a friend at a coffee shop. 😉

If you feel comfortable wearing a dinner dress, a tux or a bathrobe to meet a friend at a Starbucks or a Second Cup, then that’s what you wear. Just be comfortable. Whatever you wear, just make sure represents the awesome person that you are.

In terms of shoes for level one and level two, you don’t really need special shoes. You just need something with a smooth sole. Don’t wear anything where your heel is not held on firmly. Crocs, for example, are not a good idea. 😉

For intermediate and beginner dancers joining our school and who really want dance shoes.  You want to buy dance shoes that have a suede sole. Those types of shoes are great for dancing. If you open up Google Maps and search dance shoes, a few stores always pop up. Also, Amazon is another great option as long as you know your shoe size.

You don’t want to spend too much money on dance shoes at the beginning. Your first pair can be anywhere from $50 to $120. Once you start to get more comfortable in dancing, and you really want to peacock, then definitely you can spend more money. Sky is the limit on how much you can spend on dance shoes.

For ladies dance shoes, you don’t have to wear a massive heel. If you really want to have dance shoes, and you want to shine bright. (Though I honestly think you shine bright without the shoes. You just shine bright because you’re awesome!) I would suggest anywhere from 1.5 – 2 inches, just to start with. You don’t want something massive and crazy.

Side note: most shoes have suede and these shoes aren’t meant to be worn outside. You have to avoid stepping in water using these shoes.

All in all, you really don’t need anything special in terms of clothing. You can just wear jeans and a t-shirt. Be comfortable and make sure to wear things that represent you and make you feel good. The most important thing is feeling good in your own skin. Whatever you wear on the outside should represent how you feel on the inside. 🙂
