Honestly, just bring a smile. It’s so low-maintenance at our school. We want to make sure that everybody succeeds.

So what does your first day of class look like? Well,  we hope that you’ve registered online because you do have to reserve your spots online. This helps us make sure that everybody has a place here, numbers are balanced, and everything is super organized.

So what’s going to happen is you’re going to be waiting outside and an attendance person is going to come out with the attendance. Because you registered online, your name is already on the attendance. You #belong in that class.

You’re going to come in and we’re going to welcome you in. You can put your coat, clothing, everything down on the bench. Then you’re going to listen to the instructor do a quick introduction to themselves, to all the volunteers and helpers. And with a smile, you’re just going to start to move.

In terms of clothing, you don’t need any special clothing. Runners, jeans, top, tank top, t-shirt, whatever you wear is perfect for that scenario. I tend to say, “Listen, whatever you would wear to meet a friend at a coffee shop is the best thing to wear to your first class and to the many classes you will take at our school.”

The other thing to keep in mind is if it’s your first time coming to our studio, give yourself a little bit of a buffer. With traffic and just figuring out where to park, you never want to come in late to your first day of class and just feel that anxiousness and that stress of “Oh no, I might’ve missed something.”

So all in all, we take care of all the hard work. All you need to prepare for is a fun night where you get to connect with people, connect with your instructor, connect with yourself, and just feel good. And it’s awesome to feel good. And you’re going to feel good here because you belong here.
