How to Find the Right Bachata School

There are so many places in Toronto where you can take Bachata lessons. Whether it’s with our school or other schools, I want to make sure you have a great time. So here are some tips to help you decide which is the right Bachata school for you.

Friendly Environment.

Pick a friendly environment, where the instructors and fellow students welcome you with open arms. Often people are nervous and claim they have two left feet but I always reassure them that they can dance Bachata. So I make sure to give my students high fives, hugs, and lots of energy to help them get out of their heads. At the core of feeling like you BELONG, is open and inclusive energy. By calling a dance school, and looking at their Instagram channel or website, you can tell a lot about them. Your first step in finding the right Bachata school should include looking for a friendly environment.

Fun Environment

Most students who sign up for Bachata classes just want to have fun. The fun doesn’t come from dance moves but from the energy and vibes of the school culture. So read Google reviews of the school you are looking to join and look for words like fun, entertaining, good energy etc. When you are having fun, learning is easier, you don’t feel as pressured and a one-hour class flies by. Finding the right Bachata school should mean choosing a fun school.

Consistent Classes

It’s hard to learn anything if you are doing drop-in classes because there is no curriculum. Imagine taking a math class (I had the hardest time with MATH) but you are doing it as drop-in lessons. So you will come in, sometimes it’s chapter 1, then chapter 5, then 2…you will feel overwhelmed. We believe that if you come in consistently for a course (9-week, 6-week, 4-week), you won’t feel overwhelmed. This also gives you a chance to get to know your classmates and build a sense of connection to a beautiful Bachata community.

So finding the right Bachata school is as simple as finding a school that is fun, friendly and offers consistent classes. The best thing to do is to start taking lessons!
