How much are Bachata dance classes?

The cost of taking Bachata dance classes is an important element to consider. So I will give you a breakdown of what to expect in private lessons, group lessons, and drop-in lessons.

Private Lessons

Private Bachata dance lessons vary in cost. At Toronto Dance Salsa private lessons start at $80 per hour for one or two people but can go up depending on the specifics of each case. So here are a couple of things to think about private Bachata (or Salsa) dance lessons.

Private lessons are a great option if you have a complicated schedule and can’t commit to something weekly. They are also great if you want to refine what you have learned in group lessons. Think of private lessons like having a personal trainer. The instructor will make minor adjustments and help you improve so you have a better experience on the dance floor.

Of course, another reason to do private lessons is if you are training for a competition or performance or want to choreograph something like the first dance at your wedding. However, those require advanced personal coaching, and the cost per lesson usually is more expensive.

Group Classes

At Toronto Dance Salsa, the most popular attendance mode is group classes. The pricing for group classes is the same regardless of the level, which is $153 plus taxes for nine hours. The amount is highly accessible, especially if you compare it to the cost of $80 for one hour in a private lesson. That’s a steal!!. Why aren’t you signing up? Stop reading this blog and sign up. In general, I always encourage students to pick group classes, not just because of the pricing but also because of the community, the family you gain, and the fun you get to have.

During private lessons, the instructor’s attention is all on you. The focus of private lessons is to grow, not necessarily have fun because you want to squeeze as much knowledge out of the instructor as possible.

In our group classes, you experience it all. You learn, listen to music, practice, have fun, meet people and become part of the dance community. Group classes are so relaxing and fun that you can consider them a staycation. Well, you’d have to travel to the studio, but the point is that being part of a group class is the most cost-effective use of your money and time. The cost of a Bachata or Salsa dance class works out to $19 per hour at our school. Very affordable when you compare it to other forms of entertainment.

Drop-in Lessons

There are many schools that do drop-in lessons. Usually, you pay a monthly membership or buy a package of 10 or 20 classes and drop in on days when it works for your schedule.

We don’t offer drop-in lessons at Toronto Dance Salsa. We focus on building community, camaraderie and connection. After nine weeks of holding hands, smiling and talking to the same group of people, our students develop their tribe. They usually create WhatsApp groups or use another platform to keep in contact. They socialize after classes and support each other whenever one misses a class. This level of trust and familiarity is challenging if there are always new people in the classes.

But if you have a complicated schedule, drop-in classes may work best for you. They range in price anywhere from 20 dollars for a single class to 150 dollars or more for different packages.

Ultimately, pick a school that fits your schedule and your price point. But even more relevant is what you’re looking to get out of it. I genuinely believe that the most important thing is to pick a school where you get to have fun, where you get to connect and celebrate, and you feel special. Honestly, when I find schools like that, I pay any amount.

I can’t wait to welcome you to our big family, have you come in every week, have fun, socialize, and let loose to amazing Latin songs. Click here for our current schedule.
