We are always looking forward to increasing our family numbers, to having more helpers, more assistants, even more instructors join our school to help change the world, to bring more positivity and belonging into the world.
So the first thing that we look for in helpers are people who make other people feel like they #belong. As basic as it is, belonging is about acceptance. It’s not about fitting in. Fitting in is the opposite of self-acceptance. So we look for people that when you spend time with them you feel like you #belong. You feel not judged and you feel good about yourself.
The second thing we look for is people who make other people smile.
The third thing that we look for is positive people. Just generally positive. The kind of people that when you spend two minutes with them you just feel energized. You just feel good about yourself. Those people aren’t just extroverted, they can be introverted. It has nothing to do with whether you are really loud and energetic. Some of the best people I know who are great helpers, great instructors, they’re introverted but they’re really extroverted introverts. 😉
The fourth thing is that they don’t focus on themselves. They focus on serving others because that’s really what we’re looking for. They are not focusing on their own growth but they focus on helping other people grow.
The reality is, as a helper you will always do more level one and level two classes. It’s important for us to know that you can have a great time doing level one over and over because the focus isn’t on the dancing anymore. The focus is more on the serving, on lifting others up. As you grow up, you pick and lift others up and that’s what we look for.
