Why Is Bachata So Popular?

Three words come to mind when thinking about the popularity of Bachata; easy, sexy and fun. So let’s explore each of these reasons.

Bachata is Easy

Bachata is very easy to learn. The only Latin dance that is easier to learn is Merengue. Bachata has eight rhythmic beats. So even if you miss a step it is easy to catch. The basic steps are simple. You step to the side for three steps and then tap. Then you step back to the other side for three steps and tap. Rinse and repeat. By the end of Bachata level 1 at our school, you know how to dip a follower, while in Salsa, we only learn how to dip followers in level 5. As a result, your skills, comfort and confidence will increase. So Bachata is both easy and popular.

Bachata is Sexy

Bachata music is the music of the heart. Put on some Bachata music or Google singers like Daniel Santacruz, Toby Love, or Prince Royce. The passion is palpable in the music. Even if you don’t speak a word of Spanish, you can tell the songs are full of passion, love, and adventure. This translates to conveying deep emotions and dancing closely.

Dancing Bachata lets you flow and connect intimately. It doesn’t mean you have to be intimate with everyone, but Bachata creates a different energy. Tenderness and passion are always in the air when you’re dancing Bachata, so it is no wonder it is so popular.

Bachata is Fun

Every Latin dance is fun, but Bachata is even more engaging because it’s also playful. With Bachata, you can move fast or slow, but you can’t sit still, especially when positive people surround you. Bachata attracts fun-loving people, so you can’t help but have a great time when you’re learning Bachata with your classmates. You will be laughing, connecting, and learning cool, new moves every time at our dance school.

Bachata is amazing. But it is best to experience it yourself. Sign up for your first class. Then come and check it out. Then you’ll understand the feeling, the energy and the connection inherent in Bachata and you will understand why Bachata is so popular.
