Salsa Dance in Toronto

If you are thinking of taking Salsa Dance class in Toronto, I have amazing news for you. You have a lot of schools to pick from and different styles of Salsa you can start with. Whether you have no experience or some, we are here to help. So that you can feel like you #belong when you walk through the doors.

Schedule

There are two general models for attending Salsa Dance classes in Toronto. One is the drop in model where you sign up for a package of courses or a membership based model. This model is good for anyone who has a complicated work schedule or has already experience in Salsa and wants to dance as much as possible. Course Model is great for students who have a regular work schedule, want to learn and not feel overwhlemed as well as building friendships in class. At Toronto Dance Salsa we follow a Course Model because this helps keep the ratio of men to women even so in our classes everyone has someone to dance with.

Google Reviews

I know it seems so obvious but most people don’t do the research. So look at the schools reviews, Google does a great job of also highlighting keywords for all reviews. For example for us its (learn, bachata, energy, community, social, volunteers and more) and listen to your gut. What do you need more in your life and do the words match up with what you are looking for? You can learn how to Salsa Dance in any school but some schools will fit you better than others.

Style of Salsa

There are many styles of Salsa you can learn and the top 3 that you will run into most are L.A., New York and Cuban Salsa. It can be overhwleming to decide which one to start with. The most popular one that everyone starts with (big paint brush stroke here) is L.A. Salsa. It’s the easiest one to pick up, most danced around the world and very practical to learn. Cuban Salsa (hard to find in Toronto) but is super fun to learn and New York Salsa is only Second to L.A. in terms of number of dancers.

Just Start

Don’t over think it at the end of the day and just sign up! When I started my first dance class in 2009, I never knew the amazing things that would come into my life. I kept procrasting and delaying it way longer than I should have. All the advice is great but the greatest advice is get off the couch, sign up and go have some fun with your new family.

I can’t wait to welcome you to our big family. Click here to check our current schedule.
