Is Salsa Dance Cuban?
The short answer is yes, Salsa Dance is Cuban. At least that is where it began from a blend of local, Spanish and African influences. As Salsa grew in popularity and moved to other parts of the world, new Styles of Salsa evolved. Now there is Cuban Salsa, Casino Rueda, L.A. Style, New York Style, Cumbia, Miami and who knows what will emerge next?
No matter the style of Salsa, it is always energetic and fun. Salsa also allows you to connect and flow with other people. You can’t help but want to move when you hear Salsa Music. Salsa has become so popular and universal that you can travel to any country and find a Salsa Club.
I think the best part of Salsa is you don’t have to be Latin to have it be a part of your life. You can be from anywhere, learn Salsa and feel like you #belong on the dance floor. So yes, Salsa Dance is Cuban but it is also Canadian, American, South African, French, Korean etc.
