Today Bachata music is still predominantly created and performed by Latin American artists. Bachata music and dance are growing in popularity in North America and are spreading. Although Bachata is still lumped into the overall category of “Tropical” music, it is becoming more mainstream and several artists have won Latin Grammy awards for Best Tropical Song and Best Tropical Album.
